Couples Counselling

Couple relationships have ups and downs and we are usually able to manage the more difficult times as a couple. However, sometimes this becomes more difficult and we lose the ability to communicate with one another in a respectful and caring manner; we then feel less heard in the couple relationship and feel more and more isolated. I provide a safe place to enable the couple to re-connect again and encourage each partner to hear the other; enabling each to take the time to understand the other.

Having children brings great joy but can also be a stressful time for the couple when routines change and we as parents need to adapt to a new, demanding situation. I give practical advice and help parents to support each other in the couple and not forget that they are not just a parental couple but a couple as well.

I have a lot of experience in working with multi-cultural and multi-faith couples. Having different cultural backgrounds and different faiths can be very enriching in a couple but it can also cause conflict and misunderstandings where we can become less tolerant of the other's values. Through my work I try try to help the couple to remember the riches each has and to hold the other's values and principles in mind.
